Stop Guessing Where to Find Grant Funding
A live, interactive workshop for nonprofit leaders, early-career professors, and graduate students who want a clear, repeatable funding search process without scrambling or guesswork.
Led by a former nonprofit president, federally funded distinguished professor, and federal grant reviewer with over $14M in competitive funding.
Save My Seat!Funding shouldn’t feel so uncertain, but for many, it does.
Does this sound familiar?
- “I don’t know where to start.”
- "I'm already stretched thin. How am I supposed to learn grant writing, too?"
- "I keep getting rejected and don't know what I'm doing wrong."
-  “Feedback is vague. What does it actually mean?”
- “I am doing meaningful work, but funding feels harder than ever."
This workshop is for you if…
For Early-Career Faculty, Researchers, and PhD Students:

- You need to build a competitive track record without wasting time on misaligned opportunities.
- You want clarity on where to focus your energy so every application moves you forward.
- You're ready to stop guessing and start funding your work strategically.
This workshop is not a short cut, magic list, or a one-time fix. It's for people ready to build a repeatable system for finding aligned funding, year after year.
For Nonprofit Leaders:

- You want a strategic system that helps you identify the right funders.
- You need funding stability so you can focus on your mission.

About Your Instructor
Dr. Trenette is a distinguished professor, behavioral health scientist, federal (NIH) grant reviewer, and former nonprofit president with more than $14 million in competitive grant funding as a principal investigator, co-principal investigator, and co-investigator. Her role as a grant reviewer gives her direct insight into why proposals fall short and what makes strong applications rise to the top.
Throughout her career, Dr. Trenette has seen many brilliant, mission-driven leaders and scholars struggle to move meaningful work forward, not because their ideas lack merit, but because they lack reliable funding. Grant writing is often treated like a hidden curriculum where people are expected to "just know” how to identify the right funders, write competitive proposals, and interpret feedback, without ever receiving clear guidance.Â
Dr. Trenette understands this firsthand. Early in her career as a nonprofit president, she wrote grant applications without support and secured only two small $1,000 grants. Mentorship and formal training transformed her approach. Learning how to think like a funder and reviewer transformed how she pursued funding strategically and successfully and contributed to her being fully and consistently funded for 15 consecutive years.
Through Grant Writing Pros and the Grant Writing Made Clear podcast, Dr. Trenette helps mission-driven leaders and scholars stop guessing, think like funders and reviewers, and build funding strategies that support long-term impact.
